Hmmmm... you're probably right ; however there is something that may indicate some kind of compatibility, i.e. the fact that the extension ring #40630 survived the change of bellows (this happened just before th CF era, about ~1981). In other words this tube can be fitted *both* between a 50-series lens and #40223 *and* between a 60-series lens and an auto bellows #40517. However, since I'm still interested to complete my #40223 with the original bellows shade, (if anybody has one for sale, please contact me off-list) have I'm ready to play with various step-up/down rings as well as eventually have a plastic adapting ring machined by somebody who has access to a lathe. To answer another question about : is this bellows shade really useful? a reasonable answer is : not really if it is simply to be used as a sun shade ; however since I'm intending to do some repro work in in 6x6 or in 35mm with a yashica body (thanks to the hasselblad-to-35mm-contax bayonet converter) the very rigid rail supporting system of #50504 allows a precise positioning of the slide or object to be copied. In other words it is a nice self-supporting macro stand allowing to reach 1:1 magnification. For this use I'm also ready to find a used one or make a tube similar to the extension tube #40630. There was also a "transparency copy-holder" #40533 for which a home-made replacement sound also reasonable. -- Emmanuel BIGLER ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 6 Nov 2000 10:16:43 +0100 From: "Q.G. de Bakker" To: Subject: Re: 203-FE Flash Message-ID: <000d01c047d2$488bce40$cdc7f1c3@qnu99> Jlaird@aol.com wrote: > Will the 203FE sync at all speeds with the CF and CFi lenses like the 503CX? > I'm considering purchasing a 203FE as a second body to my 503CX. You'll need CFE lenses to take full advantage of the built-in meter. CF and CFi lenses require you to stop down manually to meter, slowing you down. Perhaps too much for that quick grab shot? ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 6 Nov 2000 10:23:17 +0100 From: "Q.G. de Bakker" To: Subject: Re: Which bellows are you using? The big lunar style release button is no longer a standard fixture on the 553 ELX since 1994 and has not been listed as an extra since 1997. > > The lens shade for this bellows can only be fitted to C-lenses with the > > bayonet 50 mount. > > Hmmmm... you're probably right ; however there is something that may > indicate some kind of compatibility, i.e. the fact that the extension > ring #40630 survived the change of bellows (this happened just before > th CF era, about ~1981). The extension ring 40630 was introduced with the automatic bellows, and is meant to be used with the new style (automatic bellows) shade 40525 only. It will not fit the old style shade. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 06 Nov 2000 10:03:37 -0500 From: "Donna Dene English" To: Subject: Re: manual or info from a patience person Message-ID: Thank you all for the help I did put the film in correctly and got so = great shots.=20 Thank you very much. I have a Quantum flash, model T2, along with TTL adapter for my 205TCC, and 80 mm FTCC lens, I mounted the camera on a tripod, aimed at a subject 10 feet away from it, set the flash on TTL, and when I set the aperture anyway from F16 to F 4.0, the view finder of the camera will display or flash "low light ", only when I the aperture is fully open (F2.8 ) I do not get the low light signal on the view finder, I have also noticed that the lens aperture shown in the view finder (when you push the release button half way) is not the same as the actual aperture which was preselected on the aperture ring, for example, at F2.8 on the aperture ring, it will show a 3.5 on the view finder, f 22 on the ring correspond to f27 on the view finder!! Can someone familiar with TTL, specially the Q flash and 205Tcc explain to me how to measure light in both TTL, and Automatic. You can reset the camera by turning the winding crank with its center button depressed. You'll only need to keep it depressed on the beginning of the turn. The same procedure as when making double exposures. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 06 Nov 2000 11:12:32 -0700 From: David Mackie To: hasselblad@kelvin.net Subject: Re: Which bellows are you using? Wonderful setup and razor sharp images. Much to the disbelief of many people I sometimes use it hand held to photograph flowers and insects. Pre-set the extension on the bellows, use 1/250 of a second. I focus by moving my body forwards or backwards. It is quite fast to do and the images are very good. Best. David. // David C.
