I have been using it in every format from 35mm to 8x10 and it really is amazing. I used it for some 8x10 portraits the other day when I couldn't find any Astia and the grain was actually too fine but the detail was simply astounding. Using a 10x loupe on the lightbox I could clearly make out every little red line in the subject's eyeball shot from 5 feet away on a 300m lens (roughly equivalent to 80mm on the Hassy). I know that is totally unnecessary but when I was checking for sharpness in the eyes it really stood out. I still use Velvia for landscapes when I want the extra saturated colors. Velvia produces extremely luscious greens that are not realistic but I love the color in any kind of flora shot. The reds can be a bit much sometimes though. There are also some people who feel that using a polarizer in sky shots with Velvia is overkill as the blue just becomes over-saturated. This has become my standard transparency film. If the backs and tops and glass didn't come off i'm sure it would be better for those sand storms! That's OK with me though! mark ------------------------------ End of hasselblad V1 #1263 ************************** ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The Hasselblad Users Group Listserv is a public service of Absolute Internet, Inc., which is not responsible for its content.
