The potential suitor most often mentioned in those days was Walmart. Walmart sells a lot of Polaroid film and would have wanted to buy Polaroid for the film production capacity only. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Jul 2001 10:36:31 -0400 From: Bernard Ferster To: hasselblad@kelvin.net Subject: Re: Approaching "street people" Message-ID: <5.0.2.1.0.20010713103118.009f47e0@postoffice.worldnet.att.net> Relax, my friend, B&H will survive! Good quality and value, and a sweet for every customer. How can it go wrong? Besides, watching the little yellow baskets deliver goods to the delivery desk is well worth the price of admission. As for those with little humor: There is always hope. At 10:01 AM 7/12/01 -0400, you wrote: >At 03:57 AM 07/12/2001, you wrote: >>And none of them can take a friendly josh. These units were designed to take the heavy duty use of the professional commercial photographer without failing. They are built like a tank. However, if repair is needed, they use off-the-shelf parts. No proprietary do-dads. Any competent electronic flash shop can service them. But in all the time I've used them, I've had only ONE failure and it was minor: a blown charging capacitor. They are mono-voltage only -- 115V, 60Hz. Sorry, rest of the world. I'm the original owner and bought both setups new. 2 HEAD PACKAGE: A GREAT STARTER KIT! -- Ascor QC-1000 800WS power pack, 2 QC 2400WS fan-cooled heads with 250W quartz-halogen modeling lights, 2 - 5" 120 degree umbrella reflectors, 2 - 10" 55 degree normal reflectors, 25' power and 10' sync cables, and a 16.5" x 22" x 10" Fiberbilt metal-clad transport case.
