They were known as "S" Planar lenses. "S" for Special, which in this case meant "macro". ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Jul 2001 08:41:29 +0530 From: "Sharookh Mehta" To: Subject: Re: Introducing myself and a question Message-ID: <008201c11580$aaf0f5c0$660ec5cb@777sd2> Hi Joseph - You may want to consider the 503CW along with the PME45 and accessory winder. This should equip you with most if not all the functions of the 200 series (entry models, at least). Plus you're not dependent on batteries!!(apart from the finder).Lenswise, the 50, 120 and 180 would be a good set to have.I love my 80mm which I really believe is a classic lens.. some may disagree:)) And my 150 is superb!!You may also want to consider the 140-280 zoom which I had the opportunity to shoot with a few months ago. Heavy but a great lens (when tripod mounted). Rolleis are great cameras, and the 6008 is a classic. Yes, it may be heavy but if you're shooting with a tripod it really should not matter...But these are systems (Hassie and Rollei) which depend on individual prefernces. In my opinion, There is no other MF system like the Hassie - perhaps never will be either!! Just out of interest I would love to know how many people prefer shooting hand -held; Regards//Sharookh ----- Original Message ----- From: "Josep Miró" To: Sent: Wednesday, July 25, 2001 4:42 AM Subject: Introducing myself and a question > Hello everybody, > I've just subscribed to this mailing list and I wanted to introduce myself: > I'm from Andorra, a little country between Spain and France. I am getting old and my hands are not holding it still anymore. I have a 50, 80, 150 and 250 lens. Most of my shots are on either 80 or 150 lens. I used my 250 if I cannot be close to the subject and 50 on landscapes. My Hassy body is a 205. I have a 205 body and so I am interest in this setup. So far, I see only Leaf and Phase1. Both are equally expensive (5 digit numbers except the 1st digit difference by 1). And I read (hopefully not mis-read) that Phase 1 does not support 20X series. If someone has more information to share, please do so. Thanks and best regards.
