T stands for "time" and this mode can = be used in different situations., but in principle it should not be used = if the camera is not on a tripod/corresp. But the first and most common = is for long exp. times (minutes or hours). I) 1) set the camera f stop to the walue you have decided. 2) Set the = time on "B". 3) set the lever behind the release button on "T". 4) = Press the little lever just beneath the film advace crank upwards to = release the mirror, open the rear "curtain" and close the shutter. 5) = push the release button. 6) If the exposure time is long go take a cup = of coffee. 7) if the time finally is up push the lever from "T" to "O" = whereby the shutter is closed. 8) advance the film and start the = procedure from the beginning as the first exp. was probably too short. II) In case you have forgotten the cable release: 1)set the shutter time to any time you like. 2) repeat steps 3) and 4) = above. 5)set the lever on the lens barrel on "V" 6) Push the release = button 7)wait until the camera is totlly silent. 8) from "7" above. Take the magazine off and practice this some times. When you stand there = it is too late.... ;-) Good luck Ulf Sj=F6gren Sweden -----Ursprungligt meddelande----- Fr=E5n: okw3188 Till: hassy Datum: den 26 februari 2000 15:21 =C4mne: 503CX : T mode >As I'm new to the camera, please advice how to use the T mode. Push again and the shutter closes. For long exposures.... sorta Push-open, Push-again-closed. The B setting opens the shgutter and keeps it open for as long as YOU hold in the shutter release button. Then it closes. Sorta push-open and let-go-closed. Now I do not know how exactly this is implemented in the 503CX... there may be some gyrations to do this.... I have an 1982 500 EL/M, and after hearing several sources comment that there is the possibility that some of the later EL/M's could have a longer mirror, such as the EL/X, I'm interested if mine falls within that period. I was wondering if anyone new what the possible range of production dates would be, or how to tell by inspecting the camera. I do not have a long lens [yet] but would opt for the 180 CF over the 150 CF if I have the longer mirror. Thanks for your help in advance.
