So I end up carrying a cheat sheet for power >settings at >various f stops for several "standard" distances. > I use this flash for my medium format camera and all of this work of guessing distance and guide number figuring is not necessary. I take my avaliable light reading and set the camera accordingly. With the flash set to manual mode at full power, I adjust the apeture setting on the flash to match my lens apeture. Then I use the power setting to adjust the distance setting on the flash taking into account the zoom head position to match my lens distance scale. After this I move the power setting one or two stops lower depending on the level of fill I want. In short the distance scale showing the auto distance maxium is also the distance of a full power pulse for the set flash apeture on manual full power. I would prefer to get the G201 Reporter tripod, since it's cheaper and = lighter. Has anybody any experience with these tripods? Does the Reporter G201 have sufficient rigidity to support a blad and = still get the sharpness you would expect? I've had the Reporter for a looong time...almost eight years, I think. = It's kinda heavy on long shleps, but it's very sturdy. I've used it on = hikes in the rocks of Sedona with a Hasselblad with a 150mm lens and the = resulting images were very sharp indeed. I like the height-adjust = mechanism, too. Sets up and down in a snap. I have the wide double-job Gitzo head (can't think of the model number = off-hand); it's the one with two threaded screws for attaching the = camera and the long controls for x- and y-axis movements. The top of = the head is about 3" x 5". Alas, I shipped the tripod and the head (in a = tripod-size carry bag) through checked luggage and the nylon bolt that = holds the head to the rotating plates broke. I replaced it with a metal = bolt but it's not as smooth as it should be. It's still solid, but the = head doesn't pan smoothly. Does anyone know where I can get this nylon bolt? I just got the smallest Bogen three-axis head that would hold the camera = and an 80mm lens and it's fine. If I use a more substantial lens I'll = go to the bigger tripod head, but the weight reduction is great when = hiking... -andy Andy Peters Senior Electrical Engineer National Optical Astronomy Observatories 950 N Cherry Ave Tucson, AZ 85719 internet: apeters@noao.edu voicenet: (520) 318-8191 faxnet: (520) 318-8303 pagenet: (520) 446-2557 sneakernet: Room 208 ------ =_NextPart_000_01BD2A3D.0027EC70 Content-Type: application/ms-tnef Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 eJ8+IgwQAQaQCAAEAAAAAAABAAEAAQeQBgAIAAAA5AQAAAAAAADoAAEIgAcAGAAAAElQTS5NaWNy b3NvZnQgTWFpbC5Ob3RlADEIAQ2ABAACAAAAAgACAAEEkAYAsAEAAAEAAAAQAAAAAwAAMAIAAAAL AA8OAAAAAAIB/w8BAAAASQAAAAAAAACBKx+kvqMQGZ1uAN0BD1QCAAAAAGhhc3NlbGJsYWRAa2Vs dmluLm5ldABTTVRQAGhhc3NlbGJsYWRAa2VsdmluLm5ldAAAAAAeAAIwAQAAAAUAAABTTVRQAAAA AB4AAzABAAAAFgAAAGhhc3NlbGJsYWRAa2VsdmluLm5ldAAAAAMAFQwBAAAAAwD+DwYAAAAeAAEw AQAAABgAAAAnaGFzc2VsYmxhZEBrZWx2aW4ubmV0JwACAQswAQAAABsAAABTTVRQOkhBU1NFTEJM QURAS0VMVklOLk5FVAAAAwAAOQAAAAALAEA6AQAAAB4A9l8BAAAAFgAAAGhhc3NlbGJsYWRAa2Vs dmluLm5ldAAAAAIB918BAAAASQAAAAAAAACBKx+kvqMQGZ1uAN0BD1QCAAAAAGhhc3NlbGJsYWRA a2VsdmluLm5ldABTTVRQAGhhc3NlbGJsYWRAa2VsdmluLm5ldAAAAAADAP1fAQAAAAMA/18AAAAA AgH2DwEAAAAEAAAAAAAAApFcAQSAAQAMAAAAUkU6IHRyaXBvZHMA9gMBBYADAA4AAADOBwEAGgAJ AB4ACgABACIBASCAAwAOAAAAzgcBABoACQAVAA8AAQAeAQEJgAEAIQAAAEY5OUM5REUyNjg5NkQx MTFBNjM4MDA2MDA4MjdEOEREACAHAQOQBgDECAAAIgAAAAsAAgABAAAACwAjAAAAAAADACYAAAAA AAsAKQAAAAAAAwAuAAAAAAADADYAAAAAAEAAOQDQquGrdyq9AR4AcAABAAAADAAAAFJFOiB0cmlw b2RzAAIBcQABAAAAFgAAAAG9Kner0+KdnPuWaBHRpjgAYAgn2N0AAB4AHgwBAAAABQAAAFNNVFAA AAAAHgAfDAEAAAAIAAAAYXBldGVycwADAAYQUMZIPwMABxB8BQAAHgAIEAEAAABlAAAAS0lNVEhF U1RBUiZNQVJLPEtBTkRNQEhPT0tFRE5FVEFTS1M6SUhBVkVOQVJST1dFRE1ZU0VMRUNUSU9ORE9X TlRPVEhFRzIwMVNFUklFUzJSRVBPUlRFUlRSSVBPRFMsQU5EVAAAAAACAQkQAQAAAK0FAACpBQAA TwgAAExaRnU8CB4UAwAKAHJjcGcxMjUWMgD4C2BuDhAwMzOdAfcgAqQD4wIAY2gKwOBzZXQwIAcT AoMAUGMC8hDZVGFoA3ECgH2zCoAIyCA7CW8OMDUCgBkKgXVjAFALA2xpMyY2AtELxCBLB3AgdNxo ZQYAAZAFwCYF0ArAEGsgPGsAcGRtQEkTUG9rCYAubhFAPsAgYXNrczoKogqEqQqASSARAHYYAG4K wIUDYHcJgCBteSARMJJsBZB0aQIgIGQb0KkDoHRvF9NHAdAxBlPlB5EyB/BlcAkRBJAX0PMFEQRw cywaABkQF9QeFFozHaAzF3EYIHUBAHiqLhpsdwhgbBwAcAlw9mYe8h1QZxFAHWgenR+QiQCQbmMY AGl0JwQgcRDwZWFwHvEfshbAZ7ZoHuEhe0gaEB+heQbg9mQcMCgxICFQJjEIkCViXwPwF+AX0hEw HxY/GmpEPm8HkRfiHpcdsxtDc3UfASAN4ClBBUAFEGdpZG8loBwwHUEtUHAeshoAIK0CYGEcAB+y cxygbAMgtSNmcxEBcBnABBF5CGAfIlUo8hyQKssK8yBJJ/8bYREAH9QelwIQJlEmoBlg7QIgZxfQ B3EuNhAHQARg/y/wKOAmwjFgJhARIB+QGyBjF+ALgGsuIDOQJbJr7QuAZC9AJgF2HDAcwQkAlzWh MNAccHAfgWJ1BUC7JaMbYHIcMSEgCyB5N/L9M7J1ETAcACWgOSI3sBmAbwQgC4AX0wNgYxowOSBm /wZRHPAbkCmUL0An8RxRL2PhPnUxNTBtF8AccAYxdx+2CXAtUGwcoDWhB3Bh/yNgBCAb4AlwOrUw 4jzxAQB/GZE4ASahGYAX0xfwJsItfS+AajvwBUAHgBDxAwBztm0fkB1AbzfxBmB0BCBfLtAfoxzz PQEvQHMbkHC/IX0bQxfiA/ABABzhdQJgYGUtam9iHaAloHqnHVAmARwAKGMAcCcjgp83wT3CF+IE YgMgbnUG0BMe8T3QZi1FkWQpO/8llBfiAiAphiJgF9EJcC+A/xvxBPEH0AQgNQMCQADQN7HvNbEX 8UtQB4ByL0AftjljlwWgAjADYGxQRHgtH6P6eUTgeAQATHEbYAeAAjD6czfxVBfxHUBDIEwVSvNP VEEBoAhgBUAzIlOAIPQ1IjfwQQtgN1Mw0AUgfyYwH9QfJB+nSvRHgx8kLV0AkHpRYhuwHDBiQfAp f09SCGAm0CXiPZAb8QpAZ/5nQfEfpyhAOWEvUAbwI4L/UKAbMAbwH3BV2B1FA2ABkO9BgwtRHuAE IGIDYBmAQ6P/CXALUSVwPCM+dQeAAZADIPteQzo3bmBQGgEcQARgYFD/PqE84QVAMNAic00QN/Yv 9P5zBvAuMDoUVecc8AeQS3L3CrADoGTEbDtgKt8oMU6S9mtkUAfgdxfwQmEbIEtRvyNVVEFd6CrL GyBFE2dkYZ8wkwDAMCAHkAVAQm8jYP89EgnRVBRfhF6iImRe4lE+/QOROEArJaMtgBnAN/I94N8b IDvxYuIFsC0yYi/wAHB/HKBjQUBjM6AwIh1RHVRi/ybAI2AfBkrjZ1gb4DbDCXH/FjAco1RBCcFx IhfwPINBke82EUgqROAZEHkI0ABBMviPfVp9IALREiFzMTcRcPl84SBQEUAEkBDASDMGYHsDAAWx RRxyBRBLUAMgRe8PIHRhBJBIJE5gcT4xAyD2TwUwgWNBL/ADYGRQHCH2T3XgBJB2UKAFsB4xSCRm OUAQB7AgQ2txOuFBWxtgSCRUFjBnAG4fkEHCWnMQNTcxOUgkC4C7HuEZwToaACYwf/JAZFDOYUYw egFIJHZvDeAJ8BWIkigOQDBbwDMxOGwtOIewfUVmVCCKjjMfD1BIJAqwb8GKmDQ0NvotFbE3SCRH 0CYQGYCIdGcIAANwHmAwOEgqE7EAAZHgAAAAAwAQEAAAAAADABEQAAAAAB4AQhABAAAAAQAAAAAA AAADAIAQ/////0AABzCAr71sdiq9AUAACDCAr71sdiq9AQsAAIAIIAYAAAAAAMAAAAAAAABGAAAA AAOFAAAAAAAAAwAEgAggBgAAAAAAwAAAAAAAAEYAAAAAUoUAAHQQAAAeAAWACCAGAAAAAADAAAAA AAAARgAAAABUhQAAAQAAAAUAAAA4LjAyAAAAAAMABoAIIAYAAAAAAMAAAAAAAABGAAAAAAGFAAAA AAAACwAPgAggBgAAAAAAwAAAAAAAAEYAAAAADoUAAAAAAAADABCACCAGAAAAAADAAAAAAAAARgAA AAAQhQAAAAAAAAMAEYAIIAYAAAAAAMAAAAAAAABGAAAAABGFAAAAAAAAAwAUgAggBgAAAAAAwAAA AAAAAEYAAAAAGIUAAAAAAAAeACSACCAGAAAAAADAAAAAAAAARgAAAAA2hQAAAQAAAAEAAAAAAAAA HgAlgAggBgAAAAAAwAAAAAAAAEYAAAAAN4UAAAEAAAABAAAAAAAAAB4AJoAIIAYAAAAAAMAAAAAA AABGAAAAADiFAAABAAAAAQAAAAAAAAAeAD0AAQAAAAUAAABSRTogAAAAAAMADTT9NwAA/0g= ------ =_NextPart_000_01BD2A3D.0027EC70-- ------------------------------ End of hasselblad V1 #82 ************************ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The Hasselblad Users Group Listserv is a public service of Absolute Internet, Inc., which is not responsible for its content.
