I don't care about the Hasselblad name since a hood is essentially a hood. One requirement is that it be very compact so that rules out the compendium type. Does anyone know if the plastic or metal bay 50 hoods are reversable for storage like the ones for my Leica rangefinder? If they were I could be persuaded that the Hasselblad ones are worth the premium. Another possibility that occurs to me is an ordinary rubber hood fitted via a screw-to-bayonet adaptor. I assume that one for a 35mm standard lens would be fine for the 80 and would be easy to find, but does anyone know where I can get a short tele hood that would cover tightly without vignetting? Thanks for an informative list. Simon. I've= learned much from all the participants and look forward to each issue. I do have a few questions though. Can someone out there explain the differences between the PME3, the PME5 and the PME51? I know that all are= 45 degree metered prisms, but what is the differences between each model and the pros or cons from a users point of view of each prism? No. Not reversible. > Another possibility that occurs to me is an ordinary rubber hood > fitted via a screw-to-bayonet adaptor. Don't compromise; spend the money to get 2 used, metal shades. I personally don't like the plastic ones. They break or crack too easily. -- Patrick Bartek (NoLife Polymath Group) bartek@skylink.net http://www.skylink.net/~bartek ------------------------------ End of hasselblad V1 #91 ************************ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The Hasselblad Users Group Listserv is a public service of Absolute Internet, Inc., which is not responsible for its content.
