Here's why. The bag is relatively small and compact. It doesn't scream that expensive equipment is inside. It will easily hold the equipment you describe and more. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 29 Aug 2000 16:29:09 EDT From: Papyg@aol.com To: hasselblad@kelvin.net Subject: Re: A further comment on "Good Travel Bag" Message-ID: <77.8f0aa2e.26dd7715@aol.com> By the way, my Domke F-4AF easily accomodates a Hassy 503CW with lens, back and 45 degree prism attached, a 180mm lens, two additional lenses, 2 additional backs, a flash and a Photoflex reflector--all in one relatively small place, with extra room for filters, cable release. Replacing the OEM shoulder straps with Op-Tech "SOS" straps made a world of difference in comfort. I can't recommend that strap highly enough (no, I don't own the company or get paid to endorse them...I think I should, though, maybe they're listening ). I still wouldn't use a Domke bag for travel transport (padding just not thick enough and bags not well-sealed), carrying in crowds where pickpockets are likely (again, bags not well sealed) or in extremely dusty or sandy areas (once again, sealed only by one or 2 clips on flap, no zippers), or in heavy rain unless you've used canvas waterproofing ahead of time. The canvas Domke bags should not be set down in wet, either, as they will soak through. The J-series are ballistic nylon and have rubber "feet", a step in the right direction. One last caveat about Domke bags: they're really made with 35mm equipment in mind, and the lens inserts are quite snug with CF lenses especially, and worse with the shades attached. Again the J-series are said to have been designed with 35mm pro-zooms in mind, so they might be sized better for Hasselblad lenses. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 29 Aug 2000 19:11:43 -0400 From: Marcober To: hasselblad@kelvin.net Subject: Re: For Sale--Chrome A-12 Back--Mint Message-ID: <39AC432F.E649DD14@gate.net> I assume that by now you have received my checque and it has cleared my bank. Yes, the bank adivsed the check had cleared, the A-12 is wrapped and will shipped first thing in the morning. By the way, do you use the Hasselblad's for shooting wreck scenes or just for pleasure? Also, do you do any b&W work. I love to shoot Tech Pan and process in either TEC or my version of Willi Beutler's high resolution developer. Yep, we do have a load of bad guys at Huntsville. Would be happy to ship them to Florida. Noticed today Florida is considering the arming of its prison guards. Must be some well behaved prisoners if the guards have not needed any weapons. Little different from here in Texas where one of the prisoners almost cut the hand off a priest who was visiting him. I am sure you will like the A-12. Found the original box, papers and instructions. Peter, visiting the Ford dealer in your Model A does not guarantee parts and service. I appreciated the Hassleblad honesty in the fact that they were not trained on the camera system, there very well might be part procurement issues, and they felt confident that the Hasselblad USA facility in New Jersey would serve you better. taking the opposite approach, you have some kid who has never seen a camera like yours, trying to *fix* it for you. guessing, shot-gunning, and taking their best guess on how *best* to repair it. no thanks .. back to the factory if it was my camera. I am hoping your camera is repaired and you make wonderful Hasselblad images. from Oregon USA, daniel __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! It is one of the earlier models with a 45 degree viewfinder. Unfortunately I really dont know how to use it. The dial on the left is to adjust ASA and the dial on the right is for aperture. Other than that, I dont know if it will work with my acute matte screen, or if I have to correct for any differences. Does anybody know if this meters a certain angle of view in the viewfinder or does it just meter the whole picture that comes through, or is it a centre type meter?
