I know that I cannot get very near them so my FE350 lens is going to get close to them. My gears are 205FCC, FE350, FE150, and 1.4XE. If you're one who doesn't believe in UV filters, forget it. I don't get into that debate. Other filters are going to cut your light more or less. An 81B if it turns really cloudy. I wouldn't bother with a polarizer. The display appears to be signficantly upgraded over the PME 90. The amount of backlighting is adjusted automaticly based on incoming light, and the green lettering is signficantly easier to read then the PME 90. I wonder how long it will take Hasselblad to improve the display in the PME - 90 to the PME - 45 level? As the actual purchaser of the L-778 meter, I know have a meter with a genuine *history* - sort of a pedigree, don't you think? If I ever sell it, I can include all the e-mails and promote it as bonafide collectible -- ;-) Actually, that may not be for awhile. I have used it for both reflected and flash metering, and it works great! The manual might qualify as a one unit undergrad course, but it all makes pretty good sense now. Find out what a CLA (clean/lube...) costs for a SWC 2. Find out (look in Shutterbug) what the current price is for a "9+ condition" SWC from that time frame. 3. Subtract (1) from (2); Offer the dealer $100 more than that value (you're not looking for a collectors item, I presume). 4. If he accepts, take the camera to Hasselblad, and either ASK them to fix it under warranty, or PAY for it to get back to NEW condition 5. Enjoy the camera. If the dealer won't go for it, then tell him he needs to find a collector. Just my 2cents... But since I use 645 backs for a lot of my work and the 90 is easier to use then the older PME45 I guess I may do that. It seems updating is the way things go. Buy a product today and then its outdated tomorrow. Of course Hasselblad is very good at keeping things close to the original design. And we all know that since I seem to have seen at least a thousands e-mails about the Spirit of the Company. I'm just wondering about the "locking rings" on this tripod. I have the bogen flip type, and though they are a pain they really lock tight. How are these "locking rings"? Do they come unlocked easily? Do you have one of these? I liked the feel of this tripod (they had one at our local camera store for about a week, then someone bought it and I've never seen a Gitzo again)... It's real easy to carry around. Is it good enough? The Gitzo's seem to jump from this low-end one to $479. Yikes!
